All containers purchased from Sea Containers USA include a full manufacturer's warranty, automatically applied at the time of purchase. This warranty covers the structural integrity of the unit, including the frame, walls, roof, and doors, ensuring the container is delivered in wind‑ and water‑tight condition with fully functional locking mechanisms.
Warranty documentation is provided upon delivery, and our support team is available for any assistance related to your unit.

1. Our Commitment to You
Every container and portable building we sell is inspected, graded, and described as accurately as possible before sale. We believe in complete transparency — if a unit has surface rust, dents, or any characteristic worth noting, this is disclosed in the product listing. We encourage all customers to inspect units in person before purchasing where possible, and we are always happy to provide additional photos or detailed condition reports on request.
2. Return Eligibility
You may return your unit within 60 days of delivery for a full refund if:
The container or building delivered does not match the grade, size, or specification described in your order confirmation
The unit is not wind and watertight as stated (for Grade A and One-Trip units)
The unit has structural damage that was not disclosed prior to sale
The wrong product was delivered
You are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason within the 60-day window
3. Products That Cannot Be Returned
Containers or buildings that have been modified, converted, painted, drilled, or altered in any way after delivery
Custom-built or bespoke conversion orders (unless structurally defective)
Units returned after 60 days of delivery
Products sold as Grade B / As-Is where the condition was fully disclosed prior to sale
4. How to Report a Problem — Step by Step
Step 1 — Do not modify or alter the unit in any way, as this will void your ability to return it.
Step 2 — Take clear photographs of the issue from multiple angles, including the unit's serial number or identification plate.
Step 3 — Contact us within 60 days of delivery by email at sales@seacontainersusa.com or by phone at 714-400-3293. Include your order number, a clear description of the issue, and your photographs.
Step 4 — Our team will review your claim within 2 business days and contact you to discuss the resolution options available to you.
5. Resolution Options
Depending on the nature of the issue, we will offer one or more of the following:
Full Refund — A complete refund of the purchase price issued within 5–10 business days of the unit being returned to our depot. No restocking fees.
Replacement — We arrange collection of the original unit and deliver a replacement that meets the agreed specification, at no additional cost to you.
Repair — Where the issue is minor and repairable on-site, we will send a technician to carry out the necessary work at our cost.
Partial Refund — Where the unit has a minor discrepancy that does not affect its primary function, we may offer a partial refund as fair compensation.
6. Refund Processing
Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days of the returned unit being received and inspected at our depot. Refunds are issued in full to the original payment method — no deductions, no restocking fees. Delivery charges are refunded in cases where the error or fault was ours. For bank transfers and ACH payments, allow up to 5 additional business days for funds to appear depending on your bank.
7. Return Logistics
For approved returns, we arrange collection of the unit from the original delivery address at our cost. Please ensure the unit is accessible for collection in the same way it was for delivery. If the unit has been moved to a different location after delivery, additional collection charges may apply.
Important: Site Preparation Before Delivery
Before delivery, you must prepare your site to ensure safe delivery and minimize the risk of accidents or injuries. Please ensure the following:
Ensure there are no overhead obstructions such as cables or tree branches near the delivery site.
The ground must be level and solid. If the delivery site has soft or unstable ground, it is advisable to provide concrete footing or a bed of gravel for support and stability.
Remove any obstructions or debris from the entrance and access way to your property.
Failure to adequately prepare your site may result in delivery delays or additional charges. If you are unsure about your site suitability, contact our team before delivery and we will be happy to advise.
